The WB&T Story
In late 1986, a group of local businesspeople saw a need for a hometown financial institution in Lebanon. Seeking to fill a void left by the sale of two major independent banks in the area, the group came up with a business philosophy and an organizational plan. On February 1, 1987, the first share of stock was sold, followed by an amazing three-month initial investment period.
Those events led to May 11, 1987, when Wilson Bank & Trust opened its doors for the first time. Operating from a small two-bedroom house on the recently-closed campus of Castle Heights Military Academy, the bank promised to offer personal, professional banking in a hometown setting.
More than 20 years later, the WB&T commitment to serving the community as an independent neighborhood institution remains as strong as ever. We still guarantee the same friendly service you’d expect from a local business that really knows its customers – but now we are able to offer those benefits at offices in six counties across Middle Tennessee.
