Hi! I’m Shelby, and this year I’ll be working through the WBT trainee program.  As I do, I’ll be sharing about my journey on the blog every now and then, and I hope you read all about it. For now, here’s a little about me.

I was born and raised here in Lebanon, Tennessee. I have two siblings and a pet cow named Annabelle. I love doing anything outdoors, going to the gym and being a hockey fan (Let’s go Preds!). I joined Wilson Bank & Trust in January 2018 as a customer service representative at our Tennessee Blvd. office, and also got the chance to open new accounts. This past year I applied for the bank trainee program, and I feel blessed by the opportunity to spend this year learning more in depth about our bank.

Every WBT employee is asked to choose one word as a focus for the year. This year my word is FAITH. Faith in God, myself and this program will be important as I go through this process.

I am excited to build my career path at WBT, and this program is a great way to learn about all of the back office departments and how they work with each other and the frontline employees. I look forward to seeing a glimpse of what each department does every day, and using that knowledge to better understand how different parts of the bank work together. The program is also a way to help me improve in customer service, since that’s always our ultimate goal, and I know I’ll learn about things we can do better both in front of the customer and behind the scenes.

I think being a bank trainee is an amazing opportunity to grow personally and professionally, but it’s also going to be an adventure.  You never know where an adventure might lead, but I have FAITH, and I’m excited to see where this takes me.
