Repeat! That is just what we accomplished in 2016. For the second year in a row we were chosen by The Tennessean in partnership with Workplace Dynamics as one of the best places to work in Middle Tennessee. The most gratifying part is that the selection was based entirely on feedback from our employees.
In my opinion, success in any organization starts within. Management provides vision and direction and establishes a culture, but it takes engaged and caring employees to execute a plan and determine a company’s trajectory. Our employees are the heart of our organization. They do the thousand little things that are continuously needed to create happy customers – customers who not only keep coming back, but often share their positive experiences with others.
Our underlying mission is to make a difference in the lives of those we serve, in every market we serve, and that’s accomplished first by serving one another, within the walls of our offices and branches. Then the passion for what we do can extend to those outside the bank.
Input from our employees helps us evaluate where we are and how we keep improving, so we can become an even better bank and provide an even better customer experience. I am grateful to work each day with such talented people who are motivated to help us improve and thrive, to grow and move forward. They also take seriously the role our bank has in funding and improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.
Progress is filled with both challenges and opportunities. I am excited for our shareholders and customers as we move forward because of the people that are navigating this journey alongside me and our management team.
I hold faith in the final part of our mission statement written in 1987. The phrase made sense then, and still holds true today: “We believe great things happen when management, employees and directors work together as a team!”
